In Plain English: Approachable, Open-Source, Jargon-Free Science
In Plain English is a podcast that promotes science literacy by making research approachable, open-source, and jargon-free. Every episode features an expert who presents a paper in their field of research, and two layperson guests who ask the kinds of questions anyone would ask when learning about this research for the first time.
I am a queer, nonbinary MD/PhD student studying the neuroscience of opioid medications and addiction. I am passionate about science communication, with experience editing scientific papers and writing articles about transgender health care for the web site Pride in Practice. I am also an activist in my community and a massive Dungeons & Dragons nerd.
